Custom Process SKIDs

SAG Industries designs and manufactures custom process skids for industrial applications. Each process skid is engineered as a modular, pre-assembled system integrating multiple components onto a rigid structural frame.

Our process skids can integrate heat exchangers, pumps, valves, reactors, piping networks, instrumentation and control systems into a compact, transportable unit. They are engineered, assembled and tested before installation to simplify on-site integration and reduce commissioning time.

Advantages of Custom Process Skids

Manufacturing in a controlled environment

Building a SKID in a workshop ensures high-quality assembly and compliance with industrial standards, reducing on-site installation errors and improving overall reliability.

Unlike traditional on-site assembly, a SKID arrives fully assembled and tested, minimizing downtime and labor costs.

SKIDS can be easily relocated and adapted to different industrial sites, making them ideal for industries requiring modular and scalable solutions.

Designed for maximum compactness, SKIDS integrate essential equipment efficiently while
allowing easy access for maintenance, reducing downtime and ensuring long-term reliability.

What Our Process Skids Can Include

FAQ

A process SKID is a modular, pre-assembled system that integrates multiple industrial components onto a rigid structural frame. Rather than assembling individual equipment piece by piece on-site, all the necessary components (heat exchangers, pumps, valves, reactors, piping networks, and control systems) are engineered, built, and tested together as a single compact and transportable unit. The SKID arrives at the installation site ready to connect, with minimal on-site modifications required.

A SAG Industries SKID assembly integrates the full scope of a process module: a structural framework, pressure process equipment (heat exchangers, vessels), process piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation. Each SKID is engineered to order based on the specific process requirements of the client, ensuring that every component is correctly sized, positioned, and interconnected before the unit leaves the workshop.
The SKID approach delivers four concrete advantages over traditional on-site assembly. First, manufacturing in a controlled workshop environment ensures consistent quality, compliance with industrial standards, and significantly fewer assembly errors than field installation. Second, the SKID arrives fully assembled and tested, which directly reduces on-site installation time, labour costs, and process downtime. Third, SKIDs are designed to be transportable and relocatable, making them well suited to industries that require modular or scalable solutions across multiple sites. Fourth, the compact integration of all components simplifies access for maintenance operations, reducing intervention time over the entire service life of the unit.
Process SKIDs are used across a wide range of industries wherever a complex process function needs to be packaged into a reliable, standardised module: oil & gas, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, water treatment, power generation, and industrial refrigeration. SAG Industries has particular experience in SKIDs centred around thermal exchange functions, leveraging its core expertise in heat exchanger design and fabrication.
The pressure-bearing components within SAG Industries' SKIDs are designed and manufactured in compliance with the applicable standards: the European Pressure Equipment Directive DESP 2014/68/EU, ASME where required, and TEMA for any heat exchanger elements integrated into the module. The overall SKID assembly is engineered to meet the safety, quality, and documentation requirements of the target industry and project specification.
